We talked of this for days and I was drawn to the subject
And you, perhaps bemused by such enthusiasm
Coupled with my shaven face
Made you believe I was younger than my years

Frosted bananas in the freezer
Elicit metaphorical glee
And memories
Of snowfalls in Indiana
Allow me to continue forth with this
And the bare emotion that I am allowed
To foster
Shall spill from this cup
For the years I might
Be allowed to live
Trying to prove beyond a point
That frozen bananas are so powerful an image
as to make my teeth chatter
And I appreciate your patience
in letting me stumble through my ephemeral inspiration
