This has no real significance, but I like the jocularity of the following quote, taken from Franklin Delano Roosevelt in a letter to Winston Churchill, which goes a long way in displaying the friendship that existed beyond statesmanship.

“It is fun to be in the same decade with you.”

However, the following FDR quote is probably much more indicative of an age of modern media transcribing political maxims, of the effort to market war, soft drinks, or SUVs. And while I believe FDR to be our most accomplished and inventive (and devious) President ever, I think he is wrong here.

“A repetition does not transform a lie into a truth.”

If only it were so; I have seen so much evidence to the contrary Franklin.
