Listen, gentle rain
Tapping against the window
Listen as I cast my words
Through your treacherous drops
Let them fly
Through these city streets
And find their way to my home
So far away
Let me them reenact my love
At this moment
Across the ocean
Let them peer into your heart
And find your well of solitude intact
Let them act as prayer
In this cynical world
Follow them home
And cry as you do over my home
At the end of summer
When you splash about
Wanting not to go unnoticed
As you wane till sunset
