This cobalt sky
looming from my window
here, there, I don’t know where.

Left, right, north, south,
from learned text and word of mouth

Whether it be partial or complete, right or wrong
in spoken word or in lyrical song

my wandering has come to an end.

A few days ago I was with family.
Now, I am not

A few days more
lest I remember, I will have forgot
that warmth, that belonging

A few days more, a few days more,
everything in life is a few days more
or a few days before.

She is running, through the park
and I sit here and nurse a cough, a cold, a heartache
a feeling that this too will end

this time spent here.

Leaving, and for once, never returning.
